And for a flower to wither under ice and
bloom at daybreak, it has to be taken. From
Japanese gardens, it has traveled back
to us; now caramel leaves
tell White Mountain skies:
“Everything
you could want already exists,”
and gifts us with a reminder
of how odd it is to be anything living
at all.
