About Me

My name is Hazel (she/her), and I’m a poet, writer, and photographer based in rural New Hampshire. Through my work, I consider how queer-disabled isolation can be both furthered and soothed through ruralness and one’s proximity to nature. Generational trauma—especially trauma imbued from mothers onto daughters, caused by larger misogynist and heteronormative frameworks—is an additional theme of my work

Some of my recent publications include Bending Genres, Gyroscope Review, CLOVES Literary, Amsterdam Review, and The Sunlight Press. I am also a publication intern at the Chestnut Review and an editor for Plymouth State University’s literary magazine, Centripetal. I have received awards for the Victor Howes Prize in Poetry and the Hinman Essay Prize.
